Growing developer demand for data connectors outpaced what the in-house team could deliver

Meroxa is transforming traditional data engineering. Their Streaming Application Platform as a Service (SAPaaS) abstracts away the challenging aspects of Kafka – Topics, Connect, Partitioning – by providing them as a managed service. Engineers can ingest, orchestrate, transform, and stream data to and from anywhere using JavaScript, Python, and Go.

In January 2022, Meroxa launched Conduit, an open-source project that ensures real-time data movement between databases and services through built-in connectors. While most data engineering tools require heavy expertise and manual work, Conduit allows users to build real-time automatic data pipelines.

The developer community’s appetite for connectors was growing faster than Meroxa’s in-house team could deliver. They needed an extension to their engineering capacity – a team that could develop high-quality, well-documented Go connectors for various databases and services, contribute to the Conduit platform itself, and fix issues with connectors developed by other teams.
