There is a problem with the majority of mobile apps that keeps us up at night: poor onboarding experience. It takes a lot of time and effort to create mobile app onboarding if you don't know where to start.. Poorly designed onboarding or the lack of it is one of the reasons users abandon mobile apps and never come back. Statistics reveal that 90 percent of all downloaded apps are used only once, and then eventually deleted by users. Quality onboarding experience, on the other hand, can result in a 60 percent conversion rate increase. Creating mobile app onboarding can be tricky.
Onboarding design can take a lot of time and resources. This is one of the reasons why some mobile entrepreneurs skip onboarding functionality.
We decided to help app developers reduce time and cost of building onboarding experiences for their apps.
Boboarding is an open source library for implementing onboarding design for mobile app users. It will help developers create better apps. We are still building this library, but you can sign up here to know when it comes up. Boboarding will provide you with a great mobile app onboarding experience.

With Boboarding app developers will be able to create excellent onboarding experiences like the ones you see above. We are currently building the library for Android. The iOS version will be coming in the next couple of months.
The Boboarding library will allow app developers to:
- Make various transformations
Scale, rotation, opacity alpha, transitions, color changes and custom curves for moves – all of this is available out of the box.
- Implement scrolling and paging
You can implement vertical and horizontal scroll and paging. You can also add parallax backgrounds.
- Use additional features
Boboarding will offer GIF and video support to make your onboarding designs even more engaging.
- Customize animations
You can implement both default and custom interpolators to accelerate, decelerate, and repeat various animation effects.
Stay tuned for our updates! We'll be talking more about designing onboarding experiences in our next blog posts.
